The syndicate will place a person at R&R area. After you park and leave your car, and go to restaurant or toilet, this guy will go under your car engine and make a deep cut on your car radiator hose. It is an easy job to do since the hose is made of rubber. When you re-start your journey, the cut hose will cause water leakage, hence engine cooling will reduce. After driving for a few kilometres, engine over heating will result.

Abductions is no longer happening at night. Now in broad daylight hours, anything can happen.
Maybe you have read these, but it would be idea to read it again to refresh your memory on what to do when you are being attacked.

This is for you, your wife, your children and the people around you.
After reading these 10 crucial tips, share with someone you whiched meant a lot to you. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide. If a robber asks for your wallet or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you.... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet or purse than you & he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole & start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., & just sit (doing their cheque book, or making a list, etc.
(DON'T DO THIS!)

The predator may be watching you, & this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE....

If someone is in the car with a gun to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead run the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having your body found in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot.
A.) Be Aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their female victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, & on the passenger side.... if a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work & get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
(And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone, & the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!

7. If the predator has a gun & you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times, & even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP!!
It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, & often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last & she called the police because it was late & she thought it was weird...
The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door..'
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window & she was worried that it would crawl to the street & get run over.
The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'
He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded & uses it to coax women out of their homes, thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

10. Water Scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running,
or what you think is a burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE!
These people turn on all your outside taps full bore so that you will go out to investigate
& then they attack.

Capten Balasubramaniam has appeared on television and radio talk shows, as well as local newspapers. Here are his advice for personal safety when you are at various location :

At the car park :

do not walk towards your car. walk towards the next car or the car opposite.
do lock your car immediately you get in and drive off asap,. ie don't check your phone, your makeup etc

At ATM:

use your ring finger to key in your pin as the rest of the fingers will cover the keypad.
do not count your money at the atm. afterall its not going to give you what it owes to you.

In a taxi:
pretend to make a phone call to your fren/husband informing them where you are, what time you are expected, colour of taxi, taxi no etc. you must of course talk within earshot of the driver.

If you live alone:

do get some men's clothings and shoes. hang them out with your own laundry! leave the men's shoes outside your house.
do leave radio/TV on.
do be suspicious if you receive calls that seem to have got the wrong number.

If you have husbands who travel regularly :

do drive his car when he is not around as opportunists will notice that his car is dusty and in the same spot for many days.

If you have children tell them :

never to post fotos of your new car on facebook.
never to reveal that they are home alone or parents are away.

Also, get the telephone number of the police station in your area and list it as the first number in your phone contact list rather than list it under P. calling 999 in an emergency will be a futile attempt.

Safety Gadgets:

1.keeping a loudhailer at home would be more effective than screaming and shouting for help in an emergency.
2.install sensor lights
3.pepper spray. But, they have a shelf life. so you must check the expiry date otherwise it will fail you when you need to use it!

Capt. Bala recommends that pepper sprays must be
a. water based
b. must be US made with finger ring on the bottom
c. must have double casing.

4. alarm padlocks. (dont ask me where to buy)
5. throw some thumb tacks up the opening in the ceiling (what do you call that??) for those who live in link houses.

If you are ever so unfortunate to have your bag snatched, do not struggle with the assailant. Let go and do not chase after them.neither should your husband/boyfriend/son.

When you drop your friend/loved ones home, esp those who live in apartments, get them to text you once they are inside the safety of their homes. I think we should drill this in to our sons who drop off their girlfriends!

________________________________________________________________________

It is true to say that, "Prevention is always better than cure", but what if you are being attacked, despite all the safety precautions you have taken ? Then, what you need is some self-defence techniques :

Moral of the story

usually observe if everyone has a key because you don’t know who is really a
guest and who is actually following you.
When they don’t press the button, I
usually walk out of the lift. In this case, if I had slotted in the card key
and

then pressed the

in the lift, he could have followed me and get out at the same floor and forced
me to open my room or even snatched the

esp in the hotel. I cannot imagine what would

I told him that he

Moral of the story
especially those who are travelling alone - I usually don’t slot in my card key first if I am alone with
one or two guests in the lifts. I
usually observe if everyone has a key because you don’t know who is really a
guest and who is actually following you.
When they don’t press the button, I
usually walk out of the lift. In this case, if I had slotted in the card key
and

then pressed the
button to my floor, the lift would be moving and there is no way I could escape
if i had to. If he does not do anything
in the lift, he could have followed me and get out at the same floor and forced
me to open my room or even snatched the
key from me while in the lift. So please be careful when you are travelling and
esp in the hotel. I cannot imagine what would

have happened if I had
not been observant or being a seasoned traveller usually I am on my guard all
the time and by being alert of people
around me.

The guy obviously had
some plans in mind :-(( And today I am truly blessed that God was watching over
me and protected me!

With 50% discount sales in MNG, KLCC, the shop was packed with customers. While customers were busy picking clothes in the shop, they did not realize that their handbags have been slitted off. Purse, cash, iphone etc were stolen. These thieves are professional, they pretend to be one of the customers and stood close to the victims, and slitted open the side of the handbag, and took out valuable items from the bag.

When someone realized the situation, many customers have become the victims, with torn bags and
items lost from their bag. A woman lost his purse and realized it only when she went to the counter to pay. At the same time, she met other customers who lost cash as much as RM4000, and iphones.

Ladies with handbags, please be more alert and watchful of your surrounding. If possible, place your purse and iphones in the pockets of your trousers or jeans, and wear loose clothes, so that it is not obvious where your valuable belongings are placed.

Pickpockets can happen anywhere anytime, when you are least expected.
Shared by Samson from USJ, Selangor :

Let me share this with you as it actually happened to me yesterday Sunday at
around 5 pm.

I was walking along the kerb in Damansara Perdana towards my car when a car
pulled up to ask for directions. Inside the car was a middle eastern looking
man with his wife in front seat and a baby with her. Perfectly innocent
looking couple. She wound down the screen so her husband who was driving
could talk to me.

He asked me for directions to a nearest petrol station and I promptly gave
it to him. Then he took out his wallet and fished out a 50 Singapore note
from a bunch of them and asked if he could pay with Singapore dollars, I
told him no and perhaps he could use a credit card and he flashed me a gold
mastercard which I said will do. Still all innocent

Next he asked me if the value of his Sing 50 was at par with Malaysian
ringgit and I told him no, but to look for a money changer in the Curve to
change it. He asked me what a Malaysian RM 50 looked like so I reservedly
took out my wallet (mistake) to show him a RM 50 note.

He came out of the car to see it and I began to feel that a scam was along
the way from the numerous internet postings. He asked to see a RM 500, I
said I had none, then he asked to see a RM 100 and I still said I had none.
(I knew I only had 3 RM 50 notes a bunch of 10's and fives and some I
ringgit as I had no need to replenish my cash which is why I wanted to see
where this goes.) I transfixed my eyes on my wallet and his hands. I put
back the RM 50 in my wallet but in a flicker he reached into it and whisked
out the bunch of notes in it.

This got me mad and in an instant he returned it to me in front of my eyes.
My eyes were always transfixed on his hand and my wallet as I did not not
want to be distracted as I knew the scam was in place. The child in the car
started to make some noise but I did not care and focused on his hands and
my wallet. He apologized and returned me the cash within seconds. To his
dismay there was no RM 500 or RM 100 notes to see. I placed the wallet
quickly in my back pocket and wanted to take a picture of the car plate to
alert the pdrm. Next thing I knew he was in the car and driving away, I had
no time for the picture.

Couple of minutes later I rechecked my wallet and the (one) RM 50 note was
missing. What would have happened if it was RM 100 or more. Thank god we do
not have such large currencies in Malaysia.

Now the question. I was fully aware that the scam started and I was very
observant still I got "pukaued". They are really extremely good in this art.
I was not an unsuspecting victim, I was a participant yet I could not check
him. I related this to a friend in pdrm in the same night and his advice,
anyone show you money just say "Tak tahu and Walk Away". Yiou can never win
as there have been so many reports on the matter. You see it is so difficult
to prove that they stole the money in the first place as they have enough
cash with them and your money is not marked.

To me it was a lesson I was prepared for. When I brought this story back to
the office this morning my staff related her painful experience.
This is her story. Her husband withdrew RM 300 from the bank atm. She was
seated in the car just outside the bank waiting for him. When the husband
got out someone tapped him and said he dropped his wallet. He turned around
and said it was not his as his was in his pocket with the just withdrawn
cash. The stranger said that they could share what was in it as they were
the two who had spotted it. He picked up the wallet and inside looked like a
bunch of RM 100 notes. The guy immediately placed his arm around the
husband like best friends and started to talk on their good fortune.
While this was going on the wife noticed her husband talking to someone
friendly and thought it was an old friend until she noticed her husbands
wallet being taken out of his pocket and she could not do anything as she
was in an aircon car strapped to her seat.

Meantime on the five foot way outside the bank, the guy tells the husband to
wait there while he goes inside the bank to inquire if anyone had dropped
the wallet and reported it.He asked the husband to hold the wallet loaded
with the cash. The wife calls out to the husband to come to the car and
finds him in a daze. When she relates what she saw, he realizes his wallet
is missing so they quickly open the wallet he is holding and lo and behold
the new found cash is also missing and in its place old newspapers. The new
wallet has also been switched.

There is just no escape. Sometimes we blame people of apathy. Maybe this is
why people shun people. In my case it was a lesson of RM 50 well paid for. I
tried and failed. My advice now is also to run when money is waved at you in
any shape or form.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5333497724157391929.post-40153797030990493382012-01-03T20:44:00.000-08:002012-07-31T00:21:42.198-07:00Witness a Car Break In (in USJ Taipan)

Today, around 12 noon, as I was stopping by 99 Speedmart to buy something in Taipan, my husband was sitting in the car waiting for me. He saw a Chinese guy walking around a car parked beside him, and after looking left and right, using a remote control he opened the car, then the car booth, and took out a bottle of engine oil. Then, he went to another car (White MyVi), and drove away with another woman. Not long after that, a Malay man came by the same car, and asked my husband whether his car has been opened by someone. Only then we realized that his car been broken into.

We then drove to KFC to pack some food, and we bumped into the same white MyVi again. It looked like he was driving around Taipan to see if he can catch another person car frequency, so that he can break into another car.

We drove back to 99 Speedmart and notified the Malay guy (who was still there). He said that just a while ago, he heard his car being opened again using remote control when a car passed by the area.

So, beware, my friends, don't keep anything valuable in your car - toll card, smart card, good shoes, nice bags etc. While we thought that our car is locked with alarm activated, it can be easily opened by another person.

Note : The victim has notified the police.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5333497724157391929.post-28135054551890193202011-10-19T18:59:00.000-07:002011-10-19T20:10:08.289-07:00Scam : Hong Leong Credit Card - Owing RM7000

My close relative, Robert, received a call from a person who claimed to be working in Hong Leong Bank in Johor branch. He said that Robert owed Hong Leong Bank RM7000, under his Hong Leong Bank Credit Card. The scammer was able to state Robert's full name and I.C number correctly, which gave Robert a scare. Robert has never had any credit card with Hong Leong bank before. He asked where is the card registered, the scammer mentioned a date and the place is in Johor. Robert has never been to that place. Robert was clever enough to mention that he wanted to call the bank to verify and ended the call. Robert got the Hong Leong Headquarters phone number from the bank website and gave the bank a call. The bank officer told Robert that it is a scam, and it is good that Robert ended the scam call and called in to verify. The officer further mentioned that there are other victims who failed into the scammer's prey, review their account details, and transfer thousands of ringgit out to the scammer's account. When the victim denied having such a bank credit card, he will then be transfer to a “policeman” who sounded so real on the phone, where the policeman will ask for all the bank details.

Robert was suspicious because the caller does not speak very good English. There is also sound of fan turning at the background; why would a bank use a fan instead of air-conditioning system.

Therefore, beware of such scam. It is not difficult for anyone to obtain your full name, I.C number, and your home address. Therefore, do not believe instantly what you hear. Please be careful not to review any of the following information to the scammer :
